Wakulla County Sheriff David Harvey Should Resign

Whereas, Wakulla County Florida Sheriff David Harvey was driving a sheriff’s office owned SUV Rehwinkel Road   when he hit the rear bumper of an occupied car parked in a driveway on February 20, 2009; and

Whereas, Sheriff Harvey left the scene of the accident without checking on the vehicle’s occupants; and

Whereas, Sheriff Harvey called law enforcement authorities from his home phone; and

Whereas, the State Attorney’s office has concluded there is evidence that Sheriff Harvey had ingested alcoholic drinks at the Wildwood Country Club before the crash;

We, the undersigned, petition Wakulla County Florida Sheriff David Harvey to resign his post immediately.
